High Blood Pressure
The onset of high blood pressure can be brought on by a number of factors; lack of
exercise, stress and poor diet, being common causes. It is preferable to prevent high blood pressure occurring in the first place, but if you
feel you may be experiencing this condition, you should consult your doctor as soon as possible.
If your blood pressure is too high your
doctor may need to prescribe medication suitable for your condition, and may recommend that you pay more attention to your diet and
exercise.
Some high blood pressure conditions have genetic origins - it runs in your family.
You might eat sensibly, follow an exercise regime and live a stress-free life, but still your blood pressure rises.
If this is the case you should get into the habit of having regular health checks with your doctor, so that any increases in
blood pressure levels can be dealt with quickly, before they become problematic.
It is advisable to arrange regular check-ups with your doctor anyway and to seek advice as to how you can keep your blood
pressure in check. You should adopt a sensible diet if you're not doing so already, one that is low in saturated fats to prevent bad cholesterol
from clogging your arteries, and undertake some form of exercise at least three times during the week. And if stress is a problem in your life,
consider counselling so that you can get it under control. These routines can prevent high blood pressure from
developing in the first place.
